FAQ

Answers about protection, deployment, shipping and returns.

Protection & product

How BP Defence backpacks are built and how they work.

What does NIJ Level IIIA protection stop?

NIJ Level IIIA is an independently tested standard rated to stop most common handgun rounds. Every BP Defence backpack carries dual panels — front and back — measuring 10 in x 13 in each.

What are the panels made of?

The ballistic panels are crafted from Spectra Shield® by Honeywell — a lightweight, high-strength material chosen for protection that stays comfortable in daily use.

How do I deploy the panels?

The backpack deploys quickly in 4 easy steps. Pull the straps to bring the panel to the fully deployed position — the plate should sit over the chest, just below the collarbone — then adjust for a snug fit.

How much does it weigh?

Under 5 lbs, so it wears like an ordinary backpack and allows unrestricted movement.

Who is it designed for?

Students, professionals, and anyone navigating shared and public spaces. The design is intentionally discreet and sized for all ages.

Shipping

Where and how quickly we ship.

Where do you ship?

We currently ship within the United States. We do not ship to New York or Connecticut — orders to those states will not process.

How long does processing take?

Orders are typically processed within 2–3 business days, and you will receive a confirmation email once your order is on its way. See our Shipping Policy for full details.

Returns

Our return policy and why it exists.

What is your return policy?

All sales are final. Due to the safety-critical nature of our backpack systems, we cannot accept returns once a product has left our warehouse. This policy protects our users: once ballistic panels ship, we can no longer verify their integrity. See our Return Policy.
